i am setting here at 10:52 on a thursday night questioning myself and how i spend my free time -as i was drying my hair tonight i realized that drying my hair was the single thing i hate to do the most. second is applying mascara. ironically God gave me curly hair that i seem to think must be dryed straight in order to be presentable and red eyelashes...
blogging is funny. it's just out there, talking with everyone but you never know who exactly and why they read or what intrests them- i know that pictures of hair dryers and hearing about how i hate to get ready can't possibly be worthy of any one person's time. why do we do this??
can i just solict comments here... i want to know what of your every day stuff that you have to do -do you HaTe to do? (i don't feel like rewording that)

I hate laundry, everything about it. Washing it, getting stains out of it, rewashing it because the stain did not come out the first time (I go through a bottle of stain remover every week,... a little excessive, but I HATE stains), drying it , removing it from the dryer, stacking it on the chair, folding it.... or not. Most of the time it never gets put away or folded, there are just piles of it laying all over my bedroom floor. It is too overwhelming for me to even start putting it away, so i just get on the computer and read other peoples blogs, because that is more fun!!!
i'm with you guys. even without your comments, my answers to the question would have been exactly the same.
1. putting away clean clothes. i don't even mind the washing (prob 2+ loads a day - i LOVE an empty hamper - or 5 empty hampers) and drying and folding but i HATE the putting away. T&T&S do their own. i only do mine and reagan's but still hate it.
2. getting ready - including make-up, drying my hair, ironing clothes, etc. i dread taking a shower just b/c i know what follows. i mean, i am so thankful to live in the ages of soap and deoderant and shampoo and perfume but i hate drying my hair, putting on make-up and ironing my clothes. although, fixing my hair from wet to fixed MIGHT take 5 minutes. probably not even 5. still hate it. the part that makes me hate it all is b/c i take a shower (as does scott) in the same room where i dry my hair so by the time i'm ready to go, i'm so hot that i'm almost sweating and need to shower again and start all over.
aren't we silly? our pet peeves? my children are healthy, i am blessed worlds beyond what i deserve, i have loving close family and i'm fussing about having to dry my hair. lol
oh definitely emptying and loading the dishwasher. it's stinky one way, and just annoying the other.
and changing the sheets. seems like an amazing waste of time, but when i don't and i am laying there, counting how long it has been, i just about go crazy.
i'm with speechless, i just get on the computer, and pretend i don't have a sink full of dishes.
I hate just getting out of the bed in the morning! HA! Also, I'm with Amy F...actually doing the laundry isn't NEARLY as bad as having to put it away. I've got 2 laundry baskets FULL of CLEAN clothes right now...all they need is to be put away. YUK! I should just be thankful that we have clothes, huh?!
One more thing....How could I forget about DUSTING??? YUCK!
I hate falling asleep on the couch and having to get up and then take my contacts out (already dried to my eyes)and go to bed. Sometimes I just wanna sleep on the couch! :)
I nominate this for Best Post Ever...I hate sitting down 25 times to respond to one blog, or one e-mail, and then having to get up to stop a fight, or put someone to bed, or go to the bathroom, or cook dinner, or put the wash in the dryer, and then eventually forgetting what I was trying to do in the first place. Does this remind anyone else of Mrs. Paddy in The Curious Savage? Remember how she hated everything, but turned out to have the most tender heart? I may post a few more times to this, but it may take me a decade!-g
Ummm...I meant Gena's post was the best ever, NOT my reply!!!
ohhhh...how lengthy my reply could be! I think I'll settle on doing the same exact chores over and over and over and over every day (often more than just once a day). For example, picking up Mr. Potato head and his 5 billion pieces...Aaaahhhh!! Drives me crazy!! Vacuuming pug hair(my two dogs) over and over again. Cleaning my kitchen after I cook. You know...things like that that aren't just once every few days kind of chores...hate them!
And I will agree that getting ready also makes me want to scream too. My sister gets so mad at me because I'll take a shower, then take a break...dry my hair, then take a break...put on my make-up, then take a break, obnoxious I know, but I just haaaate it!!!
You people really are interesting...

changing the lightbulbs when they go out. currently we have 6 lightbulbs that need changed...none are actually completely all out, so it keeps us thinking there is light. we are a bunch of half lighted people.
oh yeah, painting trim. we also have a house full of non painted trim. don't look close if you are ever over. unless trina did it, it's just not done. i am usually too tired, and too short to reach it.
i think i could go on and on....
ok so you all reminded me of other things i hate:
scarlett, the contact/couch thing- yes. i hate that.
and what kym said about taking breaks while getting ready. that is me too. i can't just go thru the process all at once. except now it's not a break anymore, it's go fix breakfast, mascara, lay out clothes for sadie, flat iron the frizz...you get the picture.
laundry? it just doesn't break the "hate" factor. but who LiKeS laundry anyway?
going to the bathroom i rather enjoy holly...you and Krista can complain together on that one. Bladders of Steel...
wow! 14 replies! you win, Geen! krista and meredith - let darwin (a.k.a. bob vila) and jo anne (a.k.a. martha stewart) come over. the trim will be painted perfectly. the laundry will stay done in a way that can almost be considered magic. the lightbulbs will not only be changed but all the fans, lightbulbs, door facings, and sliding glass door tracks will be dust-FREE! any little tick or noise in your house will be forever silenced and any spot left uncleaned will be polished.
gina - best quote ever (well, not the best ever) - "housework is like threading beads on a thread that has no knot in the end." or something like that
Sleep. I hate going to sleep.
I could be writing, or reading comics, or watching a movie, or watching cartoons, or playing a video game, or reading people's blogs...
(OK, so that's all "me" stuff...maybe I'm a bit self-centered)
glad to know i'm in good company Holly...although it's getting a run for it's money with this pregnancy! And don't even get me started on the have to go in public thing - blech! I would rather pee on myself than stand in line to pee, actually having to see the person who peed before me. probaby way too much for some of you, but it involves strong emotion for me. And yes, Amy F. if i only had bob vila and martha stewart as genetic code- but i am for sure now not ever inviting them over :)!
